Riff Doctors (I Don't Want To Go Single)

Riff Doctors were a short lived four piece from (I believe) the Hoboken NJ area. I found a track on one of the Teenline comps that suggests they were from Durham, NC, ? Anyway, I'm pretty sure this was their only record; it was put out on Steve Fallon’s Coyote records label, who formerly owned Maxwell’s, a great club in Hoboken. After this, Donna Esposito, (formerly of The Cyclones) joined the band, and they changed their name to “Cowboy, and Spin Girl”. As usual, information is very limited; so if I have something wrong, or there’s something you would like to add, please feel free.

Line up:

Frank Bednash – Vocals, Guitars
Charles O’Hara – Guitar
Walter Sczesny – Bass, Vocals
Danny Lawrence – Drums

Coyote Records 1983

1. I Don’t Wan’t To Go

another great one! I remember reading about this in some Mod-type fanzine back in the 80's and tracking it down somewhere here in Boston.....a little drum machine-y but still a great pop song....i believe bassist Walter Sczesny played with the Fleshtones for a spell at some point, maybe like '78-'79....have you ever come across the Impossible Years 12" on Dan Treacy's label from 1982 or so? I have the vinyl but to no way to burn it...perhaps i need to send it to you!!!! thanks much!

There's a couple of comments on the Riff Doctors (from the bass player), Cyclones and Cowboy & Spingirl on PPC:
