This is one of my favorite live albums. especially side two starting with riot on sunset strip. if you listen to it straight through, your ears will bleed .The Hypstrz were a Twin Cities club institution in the 70s and 80s, and one of the first American bands to revive the 60s garage rock sound. The quartet gained a receptive audience in the burgeoning punk/new wave movement for its incendiary live shows, With a pounding, hyper attack, the band commences to steamrolling through a loud, crowd-pleasing, drunken dancing set of mostly covers. You can practically smell the fresh sweat being tossed around in the beery heat; This is the quintessential party
album.

The Hypstrz still put on a few shows every year in the Twin Cities and still burn up the stage every time. I'll not soon forget their all-Who covers show from a year or so ago.
MAN IF I LIVED OUT THAT WAY, I WOULD GO SEE THEM IN A HEARTBEAT. "YOUR LUCKY"
THANKS FOR THE COMMENT!!!

oh man. this is fantastic! i saw it on the BOMP website. so i thought i'd search it and see what it sounded like. funny enough, you posted it. now that i listen to it, i must go back and buy it (along with the Jim Basnight LP). anyway thanks a million for this. oh and "don't look back" has got to be my favourite track.
Hi Zach, glad you like it, I always thought this record ripped. Don't look back is a cover from a Boston area 60's band called The Remains. check them out, they were a great live band as well.
oh thanks for the info. i will check them out.
i just got the Remains 12" (download). some really great songs on it. "say you're sorry" has been stuck in my head for a while now. i've been playing a lot of 60s garage stuff lately. Introducing the...Beau Brummels 12" has been on nonstop rotation. thanks for the recommendation.
No problem Zach, they're great records. Have you ever heard The Sonics?? I always thought they were one of the original punk bands. Hard edged rock-n-roll with tons of attitude. They were banned from the radio back in the 60's, enough said. By the way, I posted a few home made 60's comps from my collection a while back, you might want to check out called The 99th Floor. That reminds me I should put together another volume, it's been a long time since I posted anything from the 60's. Thanks Zach,
i have heard of the Sonics but not the music. but after your description, i'm going right now to download something by them. sweet i'll check out those comps. yeah, you should post something from the 60's.
holy! listening to "Cinderella" by The Sonics right now. really great! so much yelling.
oh and i always reply to your comments on my site. thank you for them. and i replied to your question about my comp.
