Drunk Mums - Adderall

When I first started this blog, my intention was to mimic a radio show I hosted over a 10 year period. My format was fairly open; I tried to play a mix of everything I'm into: New, Old, Punk, Powerpop, Garage, 60's and even some metal. Over the years, I got away from that idea and started focusing on mostly older Punk And Powerpop records. I tried starting a blog for newer records but to be honest, it was poorly executed and I was having a hard time keeping up with this blog, let alone a second one. Anyway, I'm going to start posting bandcamp content, mixed in with my traditional post's. It gives me an opportunity to promote some great new bands that I'm into. Please support the groups and buy from them!
The Drunk Mums are a great four piece from Melbourne, Australia. With a number of releases to their credit; they keep getting better and better. My favorites are their Denim Ep and this new single.

The Cowboys ( Supermarket Single)

The Cowboys were a short lived Columbus, Ohio outfit that were around from 1979 to 1980. There isn't much info on these guys; except they were Mark Eitzel's first band. You can read more about him HERE, if you feel so inclined. This was the bands only record and what a record it was. Teenage life is a great, snotty Punk Smasher!

Larry Repp - Guitar
Peanut Butter Billy Lee Buckeye - Vocals and Bass
Nole Petestack - Guitar
George Diaz - Bass
Lipstick Dave Wise - Drums

The Shakers ( Till I'm Gone Single)

The Shakers were a Canadian four piece, that were around from 1979 till 1983. During that span, they released two full lenths, a couple of singles, (This being the first) and a couple of Ep's. I really like their first Lp, "In Time". After The Shakers broke up, Dave Des Roches went on to become the lead singer of Teenage Head. He had previously been a backing musician on their Frantic City Lp.  Gord lewis from Teenage Head played some guitar on this as well.

Line Up

Rick Andrew - Bass, Vocals
Dave Des Roches - Guitar, Vocals
Claude Des Roches - Drums
Bill Dillon - Guitar
Gord Lewis - Guitar
Ed Roth - Piano, Organ

Back Pages ( I've Got A Heart Too Single)

The Back Pages were a Cleveland, Ohio three piece; that were around in the late 80's, into the early 90's. I didn't have much luck turning up anything else about them. This is the only record I could find to their credit and it appears to have been self released. The only band members names I could find were Jimmy Aschenbener and Marcus Bretschneider.

Brian And The Nightmares (Stephanie Ep)

Brian And The Nightmares were a Tennessee, four piece that were around from 1985 to 1990. Besides this ep, they released two full lengths; I'm guessing all of which are self released. The B side of this ep, "Look the other way"; has a jangly, mid 80's, aussie, vibe to it that always seems to appeal to me.

Brian Relleva - Vocals, Guitar
Kurt Hagardorn - Guitar, Vocals
John Smith - Bass
Mark Ryalls - Drums, Vocals

The Trademarks (Singles Collection)

The Trademarks were a great Boston five piece that were around in the early Eighties. I read at one time they were close to a record contract with Warner Bros; but it doesn't look as though it ever happened. I wasn't sure which came first, the Flexi or the Magic single; so I went with the flexi. I included their last single, even though I'm really not fond of it. It's very early 80's main stream radio sounding. All of their singles are included in this post, Enjoy!

Line Up-
Dave Morrison - Guitar, Lead Vocals
Matt Langone - Guitar, Vocals
Jack Moran - Keyboards, Vocals
Rick Hollowell - Bass
Chris McCauley - Drums, Vocals

This flexi disc was given away with the first issue of Take It Magazine.

Device (Make It Last Single)

a repost by request, originally posted 6-26-11, new rips and scans, enjoy!
I stumbled upon this while browsing Ebay 9 years ago, (I can't believe it's been that long already, lol). A most excellent seller was kind enough to have a sample for previewing. The song, "Is It Ever Gonna Change" instantly sunk its hooks into my brain; and I decided I had to have it. It rose to around $70.00, and unfortunately, I had to let it go. A couple of weeks went by and to my surprise I found another one for sale. This time however, it went for half the price, and it became mine. I'm doing all this rambling, because there's absolutely no information to be found on this band what so ever. There's not even a date on the record. So, unless any of you have any information on this great record; I guess it will remain a mystery. Even after all this time, I still can't find anything on this one; except a Popsike, Ebay, listing that claims it's midwestern, from 1981? The names on the record are: S. Harcus, Z. Levesque, S. Glazer.

The Alsatians (Teen Romance Single)

a repost by request, originally posted 1-27-11, new rips and scans, enjoy!
The Alsatians were from Canning Town, London. The bands origins were in 1976; called The Barley Wine Band, they changed their name to the Alsatians in 1978. After a number of lineup changes they recorded this record in 1980. After further lineup changes, they called it a day in 1981. I believe this was their only record, and this was never in a picture sleeve. Here's a great article at Bored Teenagers you can check out.
