The Stingrays were from Bristol. They Released two singles, had a song on the Avon Calling compilation, and a live album. They supported the likes of U2, The UK Subs, and The Pretenders . Between 1977 & 1980 The band included twenty different members, which, some may say, is a lot for a three piece. Apparently they have Recently reformed and are playing live June 13th at the Thunderbolt in Bristol. This date will coincide with a CD release.

Thanx for the wonderfull postings Frank.......
yeah the stingrays will be playing the Countdown, Exceptions and Action on June 13th...
No the sting-rays who had Dinosaurs were a
Psychobilly band releasing in early 80's. If you listen to Countdownyour hear it's not that - its a new wave single with a killer feedback solo - much loved by John Peel.
THANK YOU STAN, I KNOW THEY DIDN'T SOUND ALIKE. I WASN'T SURE IF MAYBE THEY CHANGED THEIR SOUND.MANY BANDS DID. THANKS AGAIN FOR THE INFO.
