CITY LIGHTS (BLACKOUT 12" EP)

This is one of those records that grows on you with every listen. She wants to be sure is definitely the stand out track but, if you give it a chance, there's a great Zombies cover as well as three other solid pop tunes. City Lights were a four piece that formed in the late 1970's around the Los Angles area. The Back Cover gives a Kagel Canyon mailing address. They released one single("Action/Back Off Babe") and this EP ("Blackout"). I found very little info on this band but Donnie Barren (Guitar,Vocals) has a website and a cd for sale consisting of a solo single from 1983 "I Love My Cat's Meow/Falling In Love" and a bunch of his solo tracks that were never released. Check it out HERE! The rest of the band consisted of: George Elliis (vocals, keyboards, Guitar),Kevin McCarley (vocals, Bass), and Bruce Knight (Drums). Please share, if anyone has any info on these guys.

I saw this band at the Trubodour in Los Angeles in 1982.Ankara and Avalon opened that night. It was my first show in Hollywood, I will never forget it. My older brother took me and bought the EP..I might still have it in the vinyal box. Cool band!
