The Resistors - (e.p. for Jeanie)

Keeping with the Irish theme..
The Resistors were a Dublin Ireland outfit, that formed in 78. They released a song titled, "Service with a smile" on a Kick Records sampler titled, "Just for Kicks, (you can hear it here) and this self released e.p.; before disbanding in 1981. Paul O'Reilly and Tim McStay continued writing songs, signed to Scoff records and release a single titled, "That's it", backed with, "Steal my love" in 1983. Shortly after they called it a day.

The Moondogs are a Irish three piece that formed in 1978. They released four singles, this being the fourth and two Lp's. The first Lp, "That’s What Friends are For" was produced by Todd Rundgren, and was released in 1981 on Sire Records,(Germany only). A few months later The Moondogs hung it up. Around 2000 the band reformed and in 2003 released their second lp "Red Fish". The same year, Detour Records released a disk of their John Peel sessions, which I believe is out of print. All of their records are great and worth owning. If your interested in reading more about the band; they have a web site you can find HERE .

The Lookalikes were a popular four piece from Dublin Ireland, that I'm pretty sure were around from the late 70's, through the early 80's. In all they released, three singles, and one full length.

The Last Shot (Cry Sister Cry Single)

Here's another catchy, fairly unknown single. Both tunes were written by William Sandwick. I couldn't find anything else, so unless any of you can fill in the blanks, I guess this mystery will remain. I found a live version of Cry Sister Cry, you can Check Out.

Zox (Strange Love Single)

Here's a catchy, mostly unknown two sider for ya. There's virtually no information on the Net regarding this band. Most of the copies I've seen have an Englishtown, NJ address written on the label. The credits list : Holland, Danger, Gunn; produced by Mike Holland. Seems fairly likely this was a DIY effort from Jersey but I'm just guessing, anybody?

Acme Attractions (Anyway Single)

Acme Attractions were a four piece from Lewsey Farm, Luton,  UK. Unfortunately, I couldn't find much else about them. I read 500 copies of this single exist? They released a second single under, Bonnie Parker & Acme Attractions, on Orchid Records, in 1981. They may have changed their name to The English Dream.

The Mix (Break Up Shake Up EP)

a repost by request, originally posted 1/24/09, new rips and scans.
The Mix were a three piece from Nanaimo, B.C.; that were around from the mid to late 80's. I can't find any other releases for the band but A Few You Tube Videos show the mix playing more polished material, live and in the studio, so they may have released something else. Sadly, one of the videos mention that Gerrit Swart, may have passed away.
