Great single by a pretty mysterious band. I searched for quite a while and came up empty. They sound quite a bit like the Jam, which for me is a good thing because they're one of my favorite bands. They have another great track on the Takin' A Detour comp, and a track on a Jam tribute album. None of the releases have any info about the band and neither does the Detour website. I remember I bought this from Detour when it first came out. You used to be able to listen to their releases before you bought them. I wish they still had that. If you have any info Please share.

Interesting, I've a single by a band called Sharp Kiddie. They to were a Jam/mod influenced band and came from Bedford in the (dis)United Kingdom. I'm gonna take a look in my record box and see what I can find, I'm sure I've got some press stuff from them as well, when I promoted a gig for them bak in around 1994, it might not even be the same band, but there's no harm in looking. I'll get back to yer and let you know what I find.
I saw Sharp Kiddie a fair few times in their early days. They were from Milton Keynes. Or at least thats where I saw them most. From my fading memory their early stuff was very similar to bands like Ride and they were certainly the best live group gigging in the city at the time. The changing indie-landscape of the early 90's caused them to change their sound and they eventually ended up as this mod outfit.
Random trivia: The drummer in their early days (Spencer) is the brother of GMTV Weathergirl Clare Nasir. No idea what the line-up was when they got round to recording stuff.
Thanks for the info !!!
I used to have a Sharp Kiddie T-Shirt but to be fair it was a bit gash. Used to go and see them all the time around Milton Keynes and Bedford etc circa 91 and played their early demos to death. Spencer was a legend. Seem to remember the others both being called Phil. I was quite the groupie. One Way Bird still pops into my head now and again.
Hey, pretty sure the drummer on the cover is Gavin Thomas who I went to school with, he joined after Spencer left to join Pugwash. Ironically, Gavin Thomas was the original Pugwash drummer!
Thanks for the info Mark!
Sharp Kiddie are re uniting on December 5th 2015 in Welwyn Garden City. With SMASH and Coloride. Not sure where. I'll post when I have found out.
Cool, thanks for the info!
Sharp Kiddie are doing a one off gig on Sat 5th Dec, with S*M*A*S*H and Coloryde (a familiar line up from 20 years ago!) at The Green Room in Welwyn Garden City. The night is called Debaser. Tickets will be in short supply but can be bought here... www.wegottickets.com/event/336563
Great, thanks for the info.
Saw Sharp Kiddie last night at the aforementioned WGC gig last night and they were fantastic. I really hope they play saw more gigs.
