The Wimps (Hamburger Radio and At the Discotheque EP's)

  The Wimps were a London based Powerpop outfit that existed from '77 to '80. They were a bunch of 17 year old schoolboys. They made two records, the Hamburger Radio e.p. and a single called "At the Discoteque.

hey i've been trying to find hamburger radio to no avail. where'd you get yours? more importantly, how can i get mine???

I had mine for a while, I think if you look, it shows up on Ebay every now and then and is still pretty reasonable. Thanks for the comment.

One thing I love about this record is how angry it is, but the anger is all in the lyrics. Hamburger Radio is one of the best songs I can think of that's sung from the perspective of a teenage misfit observing all the kids who do fit in. I'm curious if the other tracks on Discotheque are any good. I like the title track, but it's not as biting as the stuff on this one. Thanks for the post!
