This is a killer disk!! It has the Manikins first two albums, which I think are their best. They have a kind of Hives feel to them, while falling on the trashier garage side of things . It all started back in 2001 when four guys got together on a punkrockshow in Nyköping. It turned out that everyone enjoyed the same kind of music and were in love with trashy garagepunk. After a couple of weeks the band started to rehearse and they turned out to play a harder and faster kind of punkrock. Pretty soon they entered Omega Studio in Nyköping and recorded a couple of songs that would end up on the split 7? with Local oafs (another Nyköping act). After a couple of gigs the band almost quit playing for various reasons and all was silent until they decided to start playing the music that once brought them together. They once again entered the studio to record a eight song demo that they sent out to various labels across the globe. The first one who swallowed the bight was the newly started label P.Trash in Germany who got release a 7″ EP called “Don’t Gimme A Choice”. After this release it was Italian label Rockin Bones who got the opportunity to release the bands first album. As the band went on tour they first recorded 12 new songs for their second album called “Epileptic” who was released on P.Trash the 17th of June 2004. “Epileptic” became an instant hit that led to some local gigs in Sweden and some touring around Europe. After numerous lineup changes, (Mick Fazz being the only constant) the band Signed to MCA records and released this Lp; it was recorded at Chris Squires (YES) studio in London England. For some reason, a year or so later, the band ends, Mick moves to Orlando, and resurrects Critical Mass with a new line up. Surviving more line up changes, the band remained there till their end in 1993. After the EP's release, The Go gained more local notoriety, but no recording contract. By 1982, opportunities began to wind down, and drummer Joe Brya left the band; the Go came to a halt. They reunited a couple of years back to play the International Pop Overthrow Festival, at Kenny's Castaway's.  If you would like to read more on the band, I found This Band Site ,and This Myspace Page . The Go released a couple of retrospects as well, one can be purchased: Here, and the other on Rave Up Records, appears to be sold out. There's also a couple of cool videos on Youtube that are worth hunting down.

LineUp -

Tom Conte - Guitar, Vocals
Kenny Dutch - Guitar, Vocals
George Peters - Bass, Vocals
Joe Brya - Drums

Jimmy Vigtone (I Like It / When The Radio's On Single)

By request here's a re-post from 9/21/11, with new rips, and scans.
Boston's Jimmy Vigtone released this, their only single in 1982. It's the result of songs recorded while Jimmy was working in a recording studio. There was a band to back the record called the Vigtones that were around for a short time; but parted ways due to musical differences. After the Vigtones, Jimmy went on to The Clicks. Unfortunately, My copy's sleeve has seen better days, but at least you get to hear it.

D'Jango Buzzwad - Farfisa Organ, Tamberine, and backing Vocals
Tom Bull - Drums

The Revelons - The Way (You Touch My Hand Single)

The Revelons were NYC four piece that were around from 1978 to 1983. During that span they released this single, as well as having two cuts on the Marty Thau Presents 2x5 comp. They often served as the house band at CBGB'S, and  Playboy called them New York's best underground band in 1981. If you want to read more about The Revelons, I found THIS MYSPACE, for you. The Revelons reformed in 2002 to release a compilation CD called "Anthology", and then In 2008 released a full length called "Pop-Ism!"; you can pick the discs up by following the links. (Sorry for the poor scans, for some reason my scanner had trouble with the colors on this one)

The Judy's (Washarama)

This re-post is from 7/22/12, same scans, new rips. This is a request for someones 52nd Birthday......"Happy Birthday"!!
The Judy's formed in Pearland, Texas around 1979. Originally a four piece; guitarist Sam Roush, was killed in an automobile accident two weeks before the release of their first EP Teenage Hangups. The decision was made to keep the band a three piece, lineup was: David Bean, (Vocals, Guitar, Keyboards) Dane Cessac, (Drums, Vocals) and Jeff Walton (Bass, and Vocals). The Judy's went on to release Three LP's, another EP, and a Single. You can further research the band, and buy their releases at the Wasted Talent Records Website, linked below. The Judy's are still around in some form, at least as of 2008 anyway.

Prime Movers (Change For The Better Single + Bonus)

Here's a re-post from 12/23/08, that was requested quite a while ago. Included are new rips, and scans, as well as a bonus track from the Nobody Gets On The Guest-List comp; sorry it took so long!!
One thing that's fun about putting these post's together is that I learn allot about the bands that I listened to for years as well . Take for instance , I never realized the Prime Mover's didn't have a full length ,but when I looked them up I found that they recently got back together and released their first album . I think I have all their releases, and their all great . Formed in Boston by high school chums Dick Tate (guitar, vocals), Cam Ackland (vocals, harmonica), Jeff Sugarman (bass, vocals) and Dennis McCarthy (drums), the Movers were inspired by their musical heroes the Who, the Jam and the Kinks. Adopting a power chord driven, vocal harmony approach, their sound is aggressive power pop with elements of “Mod” soul and 60’s go-go. Go check them out and pick up their new record, Here's their Myspace!

Back Soon!!

I know I haven't exactly been consistently active lately; I apologise for that. After I lost my files I had stored with Megaupload, I became pretty bummed out. I then moved to back to Mediafire, but now every ones having trouble with them as well. That prompted me to look into my own domain, for the second time. On the surface it seems like a great idea; but I just cant build a blog I'm happy with using Wordpress. So for the second time, I've given up on the web hosting idea. So what does all this mean??? It means I'm staying here, and if things get to crazy, maybe it's time for the curtain to finally fall. Till then, I have tons of great records I'll be posting in the very near future. It's time to get this thing back in gear, and have fun again. I'm also planning on catching up on all of the Re-post requests I've received recently. As always, THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!!!!!!!

The Tunes (The Tunes EP)

Here's another re-post from August 22, 2010. this is a new rip of the record with new scans. There's a number of my favorite records that I plan on renewing. But rather than getting too caught up in the past; I've decided (at least for now) to adopt a something old, something new type format, so I'll be posting two records at a time until most of my favorite records have been re-posted.

The Tunes were a four piece from Topeka Kansas. They formed around 1978, and lasted till 1983. This was self released, and I believe their only record. Members went on to form bands such as The Brats, Sons of Liberty, and Psychic Archie.

Mark Woelk - Drums and Vocals

Puppet Rulers (Outta My Mind Single)

Puppet Rulers were a Boston Area three piece that were around in the early eighties. I'm pretty sure this was their only record. As is usually the case, info is limited; but I did find This Youtube Channel run by Dave Cook, that has several unreleased songs. Unfortunately, my copy has a bit of groove noise in the beginning of the Outta My Mind Side; but it still sounds ok. I noticed scratched in the dead wax, of the run off; Complicated Girl seems to be the A track. Everything else seems to indicate the opposite so that's how I went.

Line-up:

Dave Cook - Bass, and Vocals
Mark Amberg - Guitar, and Vocals
Scott Williams - Drums, and Vocals

Native Tongue (Lies/Baby Single)

Here's one of at least three bands, (that I know of) that called themselves Native Tongue. I believe this short lived outfit was from southern California. Honestly, the A side of this record doesn't do much for me; but the B side "Baby" saves the disc. It reminds me of a song called Trash, by the 70's UK band called The Doll. Info is scarce on these guys, and the sleeve reveals little, not even the band members. I did however find THIS SITE on Gary Farmer, that at least gives a couple of the band members names. As always, please feel free to fill in the banks.

Eldin Green - Vocals, Guitar
Bruce ? - Bass
Gary Farmer - Vocals, Drums

The Nads (Single + Bonus Tracks)

I posted this record a while back; but this re post has far superior sound, and band info, as well as some great bonus tracks, Enjoy!!
The Nads story begins, as the 70’s were coming to a close. Larry Brown was trying to decide if he wanted to be a lawyer; while attending Catholic College in Providence, RI. Unhappy with the American charts, which were mostly populated by Disco at the time. He became interested in the Punk and New Wave scene brewing across the pond. The music was brash and reckless, while maintaining a fun simplicity that beckoned inclusion to anyone who wanted to be part of it. Inspired, Larry picked up his guitar, churned out Blame It on the Priests, and thus ended his College Endeavor.
Larry, along with Shane Williams, one of his best friends from high school; decided they would form a band. The two were big fans of the 60’s British Invasion and felt this new music linked back to it. Having never played bass in his life Shane went out and bought a Hofner. He learned to play quickly, as the two arranged from an ever burgeoning songbook that was being compiled. One day while playing The Sex Pistols, marveling at the emotion, and the intensity of the music; the two were laughing at the absurdity of their name.” They might as well call themselves The Gonads, or Nads or something!!”. As the laughter diminished, they looked at each other; and after a nod of understanding – The Nads it was!
Classified ads were placed in the local free paper, which brought Rick Zeigler in on drums and Bob Kropp on guitar, completing the line-up. Things took off quickly from there….. The reception to the band was strong, especially given the musical climate of the times.
There were three separate studio recording sessions; the last one produced the three songs that make up this Ep. 1,000 copies were pressed, as well as a number of buttons/pins picturing the Nads logo; some of which were thrown into the crowd at shows. They played all the requisite places, Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel, The Living Room in Providence, The Rat in Boston, CBGB’s and Hurrah’s in NYC. The RI press was especially supportive and featured the band several times in the area papers. They gigged regularly with bands like the Neighborhoods, Robin Lane and The Chartbusters, The Schemers and Human Sexual Response; as well as opening for bands such as: Mink DeVille, U2, and Squeeze. Glen Tilbrook of Squeeze became a friend, and had agreed to produce their follow up record, but the band broke up before it happened.
The Nads last gig was Nov 17, 1981 opening for U2 in Providence on their second US tour; after that, Bob Kropp dropped out to pursue other interests. They spent a year or so auditioning guitarists and surviving moves to CT and NY. Bob Kropp finally rejoined the band, but by then Larry had enough and decided to leave. The other three carried on and enjoyed success under the name Action Faction, with a new lead singer.
Bob Kropp is still active as a songwriter, producer and musician in Nashville. Rick Zeigler owns Indy Records in Indianapolis and Shane Williams lives and works in the NY metro area.

*Note* - " I would like to thank Larry Brown, who's help, and generosity, made this post possible"
